Legacy Awards

In May 2026, our Board of Directors approved the creation of the Legacy Award, a special recognition program designed to honor Auburn University students who exemplify outstanding character, leadership, and service. Legacy Awards are available to students within fields of study currently supported by the Foundation’s scholarship initiatives; however, students do not apply directly for this award.

Recipients are nominated by their peers, professors, mentors, or Foundation volunteers. Nominations are reviewed by the Foundation’s Board of Directors and volunteers on at least a quarterly basis to select deserving recipients. Once selected, award funds are distributed to students for them to apply funds to their Auburn University student account. Award amounts may vary but will not exceed the Foundation’s current scholarship award amount.

The Legacy Award was created to recognize students who carry forward the legacy and values of the late Dr. and Mrs. James P. Temple, Sr. Recipients are students who go above and beyond in their academic journey and personal character, demonstrating qualities such as strong work ethic, empathy, loyalty, patriotism, servant leadership, community involvement, and the Auburn spirit.

Through the generosity of our donors and supporters, Temple Legacy Foundation is able to recognize and encourage students who are making a meaningful impact both on campus and within their communities.

If you know a student who deserves to be recognized for continuing the legacy of Dr. and Mrs. Temple, we invite you to complete and submit the nomination form below.
