Mentorship, Career Guidance & Academic Support

Dr. James P. Temple, Sr. believed in helping people from all walks of life. Temple Legacy Foundation seeks to continue that legacy not only through scholarships, but by providing encouragement, guidance, and educational support to others.

We believe mentorship, career guidance, and one-on-one academic support are meaningful ways to continue Dr. Temple’s legacy of service. Through the experience and generosity of our volunteers, we hope to Be The Tailwind in a student’s educational journey toward their future career.

Our Mentorship & Career Guidance Program connects students and others with volunteers willing to share their professional knowledge, experience, and perspective.

The program is open to anyone seeking mentorship or career guidance, with a special emphasis on Auburn University students. While we seek volunteer professionals from many career fields, our primary areas of focus currently are pharmacy and aviation.

Guidance may include:

• Career paths and professional opportunities
• Internships, rotations, and entering the workforce
• Networking and professional development
• Industry-specific questions and experiences
• General career guidance and encouragement

Individuals who do not attend Auburn University may receive up to one hour of complimentary career guidance, subject to volunteer availability.

Temple Legacy Foundation scholarships are separate from this program and remain available only to eligible Auburn University students.

Temple Legacy Foundation also seeks to connect pharmacy and aviation students with volunteers who can provide one-on-one academic assistance in areas where they have appropriate knowledge and experience.

Academic support may include help understanding course concepts, preparing for exams, reviewing subject material, or simply working one-on-one with a student who could benefit from additional academic support.

Academic support is based on volunteer availability and areas of expertise and is intended to supplement, not replace, instruction, faculty assistance, academic advising, or tutoring services offered by a student's college or university.

Temple Legacy Foundation mentors and tutors are volunteers sharing their personal knowledge, professional experience, and perspectives. They are not representatives of Auburn University or any other educational institution, and TLF mentorship, career guidance, and tutoring are not substitutes for official academic advising, career services, faculty guidance, or professional counseling.

Students are strongly encouraged to also seek guidance from the appropriate advisors and resources at their school or university.
